Autumn Events for Richmond and Twickenham Amnesty

Our next meeting will be on Thursday October 8th 2015 from 8 - 9.30pm at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Street, Twickenham, TW1 3NJ.

We shall prepare for Amnesty’s annual Street Collection which will take place on the following Saturday, 10th October. If you are able to take part in this fundraising event, please come along to our Thursday meeting to pick up your collecting tin, permission slip and other useful items. We hope that many of you will be able to join us.

At next Thursday’s  meeting, we shall also sign petitions and discuss some actions. We hope to hear from Anna, Raj or Alexi, all of whom attended the Amnesty London Region Conference last weekend.

At our November 12th meeting, we will watch a film entitled War on Whistleblowers. This will be a shorter one that last time.  We have now bought some new speakers, so expect to have sorted out the problems we have previously had with poor sound quality.

At our December 10th meeting we will, as usual, be writing Christmas cards to prisoners of conscience world-wide, while enjoying a glass of wine and a mince pie. Do come and join us for this important annual event.

We shall also be practising for our first Public Carol Singing Event which will take place on the following day, December 11th in the late afternoon/early evening at Richmond Station. We hope that many of you will be able to participate in this festive fundraising event  - we shall need people to sing and some to collect, so all are welcome to join in, even for a short time.
