April 2015 Monthly Meeting

Our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday, 9th April from 8pm - 9.30pm at St Mary's Church Hall, Church Street, Twickenham, TW1 3NJ.
At this meeting we will briefly discuss final plans for our Hustings Meeting which will take place from 7pm at Teddington Baptist Church, Church Road, Teddington, TW11 8PF on Tuesday, 14th April.
Then we will be showing the film ISIS.
The Islamic State, a Sunni jihadist group which formerly had ties to al Qaeda, has conquered large swathes of Iraq and Syria. Previously known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the group announced its intention to reestablish the caliphate and declared its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, as the caliph.
The lightning advances the Islamic State made across Syria and Iraq in June shocked the world. But it's not just the group's military victories that have garnered attention — it's also the pace with which its members have begun to carve out a viable state.
We will be showing  a film made by Medyan Dairieh, who spent three weeks embedded with the Islamic State, gaining unprecedented access to the group in Iraq and Syria as the first journalist to document its inner workings.
Meanwhile, don't forget that there will be another local Hustings meeting at 7.30pm on Wednesday April 8th at the London Welsh Rugby Ground, Old Deer Park, Richmond.  It is organised by Richmond PSC, Kingston Peace Group and The Stop the War Coalition. Amongst other candidates taking part will be Robin Meltzer, Zac Goldsmith and Andree Frieze.
Also, a reminder that on Saturday next, 11th April, we shall be leafleting outside Tesco in Teddington from 12 midday in order to let people know about our Hustings Meeting the following week. If you can, please come along and help advertise the event.
