Perth Amnesty Group Fundraising Challenge 2021
The 9 Four Thousanders
Our Fundraising Challenge is to climb the 9 Mountains in Scotland (Munros) that are over four thousand feet in height. You can take part in this challenge on any date and over any number of days starting from when Covid restrictions permit until the end of September 2021.
We hope that Amnesty Groups and individual Members from across the UK will take part in this challenge and that they will encourage friends, family and other groups, such as Hillwalker Groups, to take part as well.

Our Fundraising Target.
We have set an ambitious but, based on the success of our last year’s Lairig Ghru fundraising challenge, achievable fundraising target of £9000.

There is of course no obligation for anyone taking part to complete the ascent of all 9 Four Thousanders. The ascent of just one Four Thousander would be a great achievement for most of us. All challengers however, should fully assess the risks involved in taking part and, in particular, ensure they are properly equipped for walking and climbing over rough mountain terrain and clothed in anticipation of very poor weather conditions. Taking on the full Challenge should only be attempted by experienced hill climbers and walkers.

Five of the mountains are within the Cairngorm Mountain range which is easily accessible from Aviemore and four form the Ben Nevis Massif which is close to Fort William.

Taking Part
We do hope that you will be able to take part and are very welcome to undertake the challenge making your own arrangements and on a date(s) and at a pace which suits you.
However we also hope that the challenge will provide a great opportunity for Amnesty Activists, members and supporters throughout the UK to get together, in some spectacular Mountain locations, and enjoy some Highland Hospitality, once Covid Restrictions are lifted.
Therefore, we will be setting two separate dates for challengers to be involved as part of a group. One group to tackle the Cairngorm Mountains and the other the Ben Nevis Massif. These dates are likely to be during July, August or September, but we will keep everyone posted closer to the time on detailed arrangements and dates. We would stress again that there would be no obligation on anyone joining these groups to complete the ascent of all mountains.
