Technology and Human Rights

The next monthly meeting of the Oxford City Amnesty International Group is on Tuesday 15th May at 7:15pm in the Oxford Town Hall, St Aldate's, OX1 1BX.

The focus of this meeting will be on technology and human rights. We'll hear about some of the innovative projects that have been developed, such as a smartphone app for people who get stopped and searched by the police, or volunteers using open mapping to help plot FGM safe houses. We'll also look at some of the ways in which technology can violate our human rights - and come up with some ideas about what we can do.

The meeting will also include updates on all our ongoing campaigns, news of upcoming events and stalls plus an opportunity to write some letters.

Meetings are free to attend and open to both members and non-members. If you're not a member but are interested in joining, you can do that on the night. Annual membership of the local group is £5.00 (or £2.00 if you are unwaged).
