Ukraine crisis

For our April online local group meeting, we were delighted to have Roman Tokaryk, from the University of Oxford’s Ukrainian Society join us to speak about the Ukraine crisis and the ways in which we as a local Amnesty group can help and support the people of Ukraine.

Below are some links and contacts for further follow ups:

If anyone is aware of any specific activities or events to support the Ukrainian community, please let us know (secretary@oxford-amnesty.org.uk) and we will publicise via our monthly Mailchimp and/or group social media.

In terms of actions via Amnesty International, you can:

  • Learn more about the invasion and Amnesty International’s response here, and the work of the ‘Crisis Evidence Lab’, which documents human rights violations remotely.
  • Donate to support the campaign for civilians in Ukraine and those fleeing the county whose rights and lives have been severely impacted by the invasion
  • Sign a petition urging Vladimir Putin to demand that Russia ends its aggression immediately
  • Sign a petition urging the Prime Minister to help people fleeing war in Ukraine
  • Follow news and campaigns on Twitter via @amnesty and @amnestyuk or on Facebook.
