Out and about at Amnesty Conferences

Action for Azza

Three of our members attended the south-west regional conference in Exeter on 17 March (in the snow!) and three of us also attended the AIUK Annual Conference & AGM in Swansea on 7/8 April. Both conferences included actions in support of Azza Soliman, a brave defender of women's rights in Egypt.

At the regional conference, Cherry Bird ran a well-received workshop on human rights in India and Nepal, and she will be repeating this for us at our July group meeting. Susan Mew has also been out and about running workshops on the Brave campaign for the Taunton and Weston-Super-Mare groups. It is always good to meet members from other groups and share information and ideas. And conferences and inspiring speakers are good for revitalising our enthusiasm for campaigning, letter writing and fund-raising!

We reported back from these conferences at our April group meeting, and some key points are set out in the April newsletter.
