Mayfair and Soho update

The group held a mid-year 'Write for Rights' at Finsbury Library on 13 July. 93 cards and letters were signed for the Peace Community of San Jose de Apartado in Colombia, Kalpana Chakma, who disappeared in Bangladesh, gay people facing persecution in Chechnya and women and girls with inadequate health-care in South Africa.

We have a busy second half of the year.

Richard Cohen will be leading two more fund-raising walks, probably on Sunday 29 September and Sunday 27 October, both at 2.00.

There will be a speaker from the Death Penalty Project at our meeting on 19 September, and we will be combining this with an Amnestea.

The annual London-wide street collection is on Saturday 12 October.

We will be joining the Westminster and Bayswater group carol-singing at Pimlico tube station in December.
