MARCH 2022 newsletter

Hello everyone

I hope that you are all keeping as well as you can in these troubling times.

Please find attached the Manchester Amnesty March newsletter, with a different colour scheme this month, in solidarity with Ukraine.

This month, the group meeting, online at 7pm on 14th March, is the Annual General Meeting. As well as electing officers, reviewing the past year, and planning for the year to come, we are going to discuss changing the frequency and format of the newsletter, so if you have views on this, please come to the meeting to express them. Our proposal is to use the Weekly Action email to convey news as well as actions, and to publish a newsletter containing more in-depth articles quarterly.

Please note that there is an Amnesty online event THIS EVENING on responding to the governments consultation on their review of the Human Rights Act. The consultation closes tomorrow, so if you wish to respond, you need to get your response in today. 

Also imminent (TOMORROW evening) is an Amnesty event on planning for the forthcoming campaign on Palestine. See the links to both of these events on the front page of the newsletter.
