About this group

We are the local Amnesty group for Maidstone and Swale, campaigning for human rights worldwide.
We meet on the first Monday of most months from 7:30 – 9:30 pm.
Our meetings take place at a venue in central Maidstone.

We were founded in 1967 as Amnesty local group no. 37.
We are a friendly group and always welcome new faces. (You don’t have to be a member.)
What do we do?
- Campaign for respect for human rights around the world and in the UK. Current priority campaigns include the treatment of refugees and protection of human rights defenders
- Work to raise the profile of Amnesty International and human rights issues locally
- Raise funds through various activities
