Thursday 20 November (at 8pm): an Open Evening with Amnesty Kingston

Come and join us for an Open Evening and to send cards of solidarity. Group members will be available to explain their current campaigns and answer questions on global human rights issues. Something as simple as sending an email, or signing a petition, can make a great difference to people suffering human rights abuses in countries across the globe. We’ll be using examples from the current ‘Write for Rights’ greeting card campaign. This is an annual campaign, run for two months every year, to send cards of solidarity to victims of human rights abuses, or to the families of missing people, or to human rights activists in other countries.

It’s free and refreshment will be provided, as will the cards, stamps and all the information for the greetings cards, including addresses and suggestions on what to write. Come and help us beat our previous record of ‘500 messages of hope’ sent across the world from Kingston.
