Sunday 2 July: 'Refugee Tales' in All Saints Church, Kingston

REFUGEE TALES  Sunday 2nd July 7.45 (free entry)

This evening of tales and music is part of the 'Refugee Tales' walk from Runnymede to Westminster taking place 1-5 July to highlight the plight of vulnerable detainees at refugee detention centres. All Saints is welcoming the walkers as they arrive on this stage of their journey this Sunday evening.

Before hand, please take time to view Amnesty Kingston's 'I WELCOME' exhibition which is displayed on the screen in front of the cafe area at All Saints Church in Kingston (between the Market Place and John Lewis).  These powerful photographs, collated by the famous Magnum Photographic cooperative, display the traumas and journeys taken by thousands of refugees seeking safety from conflict zones across the globe. The display not only covers the modern day refugee crisis but includes historic photos dating back to World War 2. Please add your name to the petition calling on the Government to take a lead in delivering a humane and effective response to the global refugee crisis. Representatives of Amnesty Kingston and Refugee Action Kingston will be at the exhibition at 7pm, prior to the presentation of 'Refugee Tales'.
