Campaigning in Kingston Market Place

We will be resuming our regular conversations with the public on Saturday mornings, just outside the memorial gates to All Saints Church, which open on to the Market Place.

Many of you will know from having paced up and down on Saturday mornings there that the church owns a narrow strip of pavement outside the gates, which allow us to put a table there to help interact with the public.

Jenny Bridges, personal assistant to the Rector of All Saints, has kindly agreed that we can use the patch of pavement outside the church on the fourth Saturday of each month, for the next six months.

This gives us the following firm Saturdays for our conversations with the public:

  • 26 February
  • 26 March
  • 23 April
  • 28 May
  • 25 June
  • 23 July
  • 27 August
  • 24 September
  • 29 October
  • 10 December
  • 28 January 2023
  • 25 February 2023
  • 25 March 2023
  • 29 April 2023

We will plan to start at 10:30 AM, and pack up at 12:30 PM, which are usually the busiest two hours in that corner of the Market Place.

Kingston Peace Council are regular users of this space on the first and third Saturdays of each month - and they sometimes need to change these dates, in which case we'll change ours to help them out.

For the first date, we will be campaigning against the death penalty. We are assembling a few cases, and letters / information, to ensure an interesting and useful interaction with the public.

If you would like to join in, either for the two hour event or for part of it, please email Alexi.
