Highlights of SE regional conference

The conference opened with Celia Ouelette, a lawyer for Reprieve,  describing her work with death row prisoners in the US.  She led us through the steps that must be taken to examine pre-trial procedure for faults and inaccuracies and post-trial work that focussed highlighting mitigating circumstances. We also had a choice of three workshops covering Refugees & Assylum speakers, Social media and Lobbying & the General Election.  In the afternoon Lesly Burgess, Philippines Country Coordinator talked about the Stop Torture campaign and the situation in the Philippines.  A more detailed account of the day is in the doocument "Report on the SE conference Feb 2015" which you can download below.
