Film Night!

The Penguin Lessons artwork
The Penguin Lessons

On Thursday 13 November we are screening a fundraising film at Wildwood, High Street, Ely, which boasts a small (30 seat) and very comfortable cinema above the dining area. https://wildwoodrestaurants.co.uk/restaurant/ely/

There is also the opportunity to join Ely group members and supporters for a meal beforehand. If you take that option you will be sent a menu and asked to make a choice in advance (payment after the meal).

The Penguin Lessons (12A)
7.30pm (film start)
6.00pm (for meal)
Film cost: £7 if you come to the meal and £8 if it’s just the film

A bit about the film:
A disillusioned young Englishman goes to work in a school in a divided Argentina in 1976. He finds his life is transformed when he rescues an orphaned penguin from the beach. Starring Steve Coogan and Jonathan Pryce, it is based on a true story, and mixes comedy with pathos. A heartfelt personal story that manages to hint at the political horrors of the time.

Tickets must be pre-booked and paid for as there are only 30 seats available. As it’s a fundraiser, we hope to sell them all!

If you would like to book tickets, with or without a meal, please email info@amnestyely.org.uk without delay to avoid missing out!

NB – this event was originally scheduled for 4 September but had to be postponed until 13 Nov.
