Members of the Portobello group met with Sheila Gilmore MP on 11 April 2014.

2 members of the Portobello group met up with Sheila Gilmore MP last May to ask her for a British contribution to the protection of Afghan women human rights defenders, several of whom have been killed recently. Independent from EU contributions Germany, for example, provides armed vehicles for protection . The members also discussed the treatment of refused asylum seekers by private contractors when returning to their country of origin and asked the MP for a code of practice to ensure proper and humane treatment while en route and after landing at destination.
