About this group

Our Amnesty International group is fortunate to be able to take advantage of the hustle, bustle and exciting atmosphere of Brighton and Hove! The group is dedicated to raising awareness of human rights abuses all over the world.

We hope you can join us at one of our events or come along to our group meetings which usually take place on the first Thursday of every month between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm. We alternate the format of these meetings. Every other meeting has a guest speaker talking about a Human Rights issue from around the world. The other meeting focuses on what we do as a group.

We campaign on several issues, including the Refugee Crisis, West and Central African human rights - especially the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as, Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa issues. We hold a Monthly stall outside the Amnesty Bookshop in Sydney Street, and a monthly collection in Brighton Lanes.
