What is an Amnesty network?
Amnesty networks are specialist, activist-led groups that bring people together around a shared human rights focus. They connect experience and expertise from across the Amnesty movement to campaign for change in that area.
We have specialist networks and projects focused on Trade Unions, gender rights, gender identity and sexuality, children’s human rights, anti-racism, disabled people's human rights and the death penalty.
What networks do
Networks can help you:
- Take action together on a specific human rights issue.
- Share knowledge and lived experience, safely and respectfully.
- Support Amnesty UK campaigns with insight, ideas, and organising.
- Build community with others who care about the same issue.
Who are networks for
A network might be right for you if you want to:
- Connect with people who share your interest or experience.
- Learn more about an issue and take part in campaigning activities.
You don’t need to be an expert to join. If you care about human rights and want to get involved, you are welcome.
What you can expect
Depending on the network, you may be invited to:
- Join an email list for updates and ways to take action.
- Attend online or in-person meet-ups.
- Contribute to planning and campaigning.
- Share resources and support other activists.

Amnesty Feminists are a network of activists who share news, run campaigns, and take action on Human Rights abuses globally, with a specific focus on rights restricted because of gender discrimination.
The Student Action Network Committee, also known as the STAN Committee, consists of ten students who are elected (by other students!) to lead campaigns, represent student groups in Amnesty UK and to support them in their campaigning. The committee's aims are to support Amnesty Student groups to win human rights victories on campuses, identify and train leaders within our movement, and to grow our student network.
Our Disabled People’s Human Rights Network brings together activists from all over the UK to claim our rights and fight for disabled people everywhere.
We are the Amnesty International UK Anti-Racism Network, a volunteer-led group of activists taking action against racism and injustice in the UK and around the world. Launched in September 2022, we came together to challenge the systems and structures that uphold racism because racial justice is human justice. We work to expose, resist, and dismantle the racism that shapes policies, institutions, and global power structures.
The Queer Rights Network (formerly Rainbow Network) defends the rights of LGBTQI+ communities across the UK and beyond, rising up against structures and institutions that try to erase our existence and rewrite our history. We are activist-led, standing on the shoulders of the trailblazers who have come before us and fighting for the future of queer people yet to come.
We work with Trades Unions all over the world to stand up for workers rights. From exploited migrant workers to teachers locked up for expressing their views we bring the Amnesty movement together with Trades Unionists to demand justice.
The Anti-Death Penalty Project is our network campaigning to end the use of the death penalty around the world. We ask people to join us in speaking out, supporting campaigns, and helping change laws so the death penalty ends for good.
