Palantir is a US software company whose tools are currently used by the Israeli military as they commit genocide against Palestinians in occupied Gaza.

Palantir also supply ICE with tools that are used to track and surveil migrants in the US.

In 2023, NHS England awarded a £330 million contract to Palantir to provide a new data platform.

On 3 June 2026, the cross-party House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Committee called for the government to terminate NHS England's contract with Palantir because the company supports "highly controversial policies and activities."

A company profiting from such grave human rights abuses should have no role in our health system or wider public sector. Amnesty’s message is clear - No Palantir in our NHS.

What is Palantir? Show

Palantir Technologies is a US software company specialising in data products used widely by governments for surveillance, intelligence and military purposes.

Palantir has deep ties to various US government agencies. It supplies ICE with tools that are used to track and surveil migrants in the US.

In January 2024, Palantir signed a contract with the Israeli military to use its technology in support of “war-related missions.”

The contract was signed while Israel was committing genocide in Gaza – a genocide that is ongoing as Israeli forces continue to deliberately create unlivable conditions for Palestinians.

What is Palantir’s role in the NHS? Show

In recent years, Palantir has been expanding into the UK.

It has been awarded contracts with various agencies such as the Ministry of Defence, the Royal Navy, Coventry City Council and several police forces.

Amnesty is calling on all UK public bodies to responsibly divest and cease purchasing from Palantir.

In November 2023, NHS England signed a £330 million contract with Palantir to run the Federated Data Platform (FDP)

Any company contributing to genocide has no place in our NHS.

According to NHS England, the FDP “brings together health data in one secure place to help NHS staff make better decisions about patient care and service planning.”

But objections to Palantir’s role in the NHS are shared by a range of organisations, including human rights organisations, patient advocacy groups and health worker groups.

These objections are set out in a March 2026 briefing authored by Medact and supported by Amnesty International.

Say No to Palantir in our NHS

Palantir’s contract with NHS England is up for renewal in February 2027. In the lead-up to this date, Amnesty is campaigning for all NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Boards (ICB) to refuse to use Palantir’s technology, due to Palantir’s involvement in global human rights violations.

With enough resistance at the local level, we can ensure that NHS England ends its partnership with Palantir - but this can only be done by building strong local campaigns and power in communities.
