Human Trafficking - A new tool to help campaigners.

I'm involved with a new project that aims to help campaigners trying to combat human trafficking. The Human Trafficking Awareness Index is a collaboration with an information company called LexisNexis UK - www.lexisnexis.co.uk.

Using a licensed collection of almost 6,000 of the most influential news sources from more than 120 countries, the HTA Index highlights emerging trends and patterns of awareness within and across national borders. Activists working to combat human trafficking can use this information to highlight and raise awareness to inform their efforts and gain greater understanding of the media.

The HTA Index report number 3 has just been published and can be read in full if you click on the link below. Themes this month include details of media coverage around the Olympic Games plus information on the role of celebrities who advocate for charities and how their input can prompt coverage of human trafficking in the press. For example, the HTA Index showed that testimony by Jada Pinkett Smith before US Congress in July led to 44 media around the world publishing articles.

Thanks for your time.
