1989 Participant's Profile: Qian Hui(钱辉)

Qian Hui (钱辉),student in the Reporting and Editing Department at the Beijing Broadcasting College, scheduled to graduate in 1989,marched along Beijing streets, to protest against Martial Law on 1 June. In the early morning of June 5, 1989, outside the entrance of the Broadcasting College, a heavy artillery bullet from a tank shattered Qian's bladder. Another bullet penetrated the artery of his upper leg, but still did not kill him. He told his companions, "Watch out! The tank has not left yet!" They dragged him into the campus where he died, leaving a trail of blood one hundred meters long. He died at 21.
