Children on children's rights video

A little bit of light entertainment for you here, with this YouTube video filmed in a Danish school of children talking about children's rights.  It's extremely touching and very funny.  It was shown at the Amnesty International Children's Right's Network Conference on the 20th of November, to mark 20 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

If you are a teacher and you are interested in teaching children's rights to children, you might consider putting similar questions to your class.  There are pleny of ways to introduce children of any age to talking about human rights and specifically the rights of children.  If you are in the UK and you would like to lead a similar project, get in touch!  If you have any similar material you want to publicise, then let me know at groovyhelle@gmail.com and I can put it up here.

The Children's Human Rights Network will make sure that you don't miss any news about cases of under-18s whose rights have been abused.  If you haven't signed up to our quarterly e-zine and update, sign up on our website.

For further information on teaching human rights to children, AIUK also has a fantastic TeachRights network that you can sign up to here.  They will send you a twice-termly newsletter full of cases to work on with your children and tips and tricks to bring human rights alive in the classroom.

Thanks!

Helle :)
