School of the Americas

I wrote back in November 2010 about the annual convergence of thousands from around the USA and Latin America at Fort Benning in Georgia, USA.  I wrote then that they were converging yet again and that was years back.  They gather to protest in a creative and peaceful way about the School of the Americas or WHINSEC to give its newer name.  Late last month they were there again.  Still I have not made it from this side of the Atlantic but maybe I will one day?

What is this all about?  The School has a record of training people from Latin America who go on to commit terrible atrocities such as mass killings.

How bad is it? Well I found that when I tried to look at the list of notorious graduates on the SOAW website (using a computer in a  Shropshire County Council public library) I was denied access because of the violent content!
