Did you see Unreported World this evening?

Unreported World is the Channel 4 series that brings us the harsh realities of life in many places around the world where there is violence and conflict.  To balance the traumatic scenes shown there are often stories about local people who are trying to change things for the better.

Have a look at the reporter's blog by Ramita Navai.

Earlier this evening Unreported World went to El Salvador where there are many murders in the capital, San Salvador.  Increasingly it is young women and children who are becoming involved in gang warfare and many are killed.  People are afraid to report what they have witnessed so it is very hard to bring anyone to justice.

Tonight's film showed the police and the military trying to control the situation but in parts of San Salvador it is the gangs that are in control.  There was not a great deal of hope in the film but see the El Salvador local hero described on the website.
