Training in the winter

The right kit can set you up to run in almost any conditions. Here’s our advice on the kit you need to run well in the winter.
- An excellent quality Jacket. There are plenty out there to choose from, but it is worth spending a bit extra on a good jacket, because it'll last you several years. Brightly coloured jackets are useful, as they'll keep you seen!
- Running Tights will keep your legs warm and allow for a full range of motion. Allowing you to run unimpeded. you can run! Tights come in all thicknesses and lengths, and it is a personal preference for what you like.
- Many moisture wicking, thin layers work well in the winter. I like to have a short sleeve t-shirt on, then a longer one on. This will keep you warm without wearing too much.
- Hat and Gloves are essential for keeping the chill off your extremities. Also, ideal because you can take them off and stuff into a pocket if you do warm up.
