We are so pleased to be open again following the recent lockdown. It’s been wonderful to see so many of our customers stopping by to top up their bookshelves. If you are planning a visit, our opening hours for next week will be:

Monday           10am - 4.30pm

Tuesday           10am - 4.30pm

Wednesday      10am - 4.30pm

Thursday           10am - 4.30pm

Friday                10am - 4.30pm

Saturday             10.30am - 5pm

Sunday                Closed

We are currently accepting donations of books on Thursday and Friday, by appointment only. Please give us a call on Tuesday (0117 9422969) to book a time. 

As well as quality books, we also happily accept Vinyl, CDs, DVDs, Sheet Music & National Geographic.

Our Bristol shop has been serving the local community for over a decade. It is now an established part of the Bishopston scene, known as one of the best (and friendliest) bookshops in the west.

The shop is located on the A38, about a mile north of the city centre, opposite a small post office and art shop.

Opening hours

Monday-Friday: 10.00am-4.30pm
Saturday: 10.30am-5.00pm
Sunday: Closed


  • Parking is limited to one hour and permitted 9.30am -4.30pm only
  • There is a small free car park ¼ of a mile north
  • Ground floor is accessible to wheelchairs
  • Basement is not accessible to wheelchairs

Get involved

Volunteer Our shops are run mainly by volunteers so we’re always looking for more! If you’re interested in helping out and can spare four hours a week, please pop in for a chat and an application form. You can also download the role outline and application form below.  

Donate Got records you haven’t listened to for years? Or books you’re no longer reading? Don't put them in the attic, bring them down to the shop and donate to support human rights. We also accept CDs and DVDs.

Come to the Record Fair We have a stall at the monthly Colston Hall record fair selling CDs, DVDs, music books and photographs.
