We also stock an ethical gift range including Fairtrade items, greeting cards, and Amnesty branded products.
Donations help us keep our stock fresh and relevant, so if you’re thinking of donating to us, we’d love to hear from you. Please refer to the donation section below.
We are always looking for people to join our volunteer team. If you want to learn more there is a bit more about volunteering in Amnesty bookshops here, to find out about the vacancies we have email brightonbookshop@amnesty.org.uk or pop in for a chat.

Events and Promotions:
Our shop often hosts events and promotions, and we are planning to revive this programme now that restrictions have lifted. Be sure to check in regularly to see what’s on offer – or follow our social media accounts for the latest news.
Previous favourites were: our popular monthly Open Mic Night, for local creatives to share their poetry and musical talents; and our regular Amnesty Charity Quiz Nights, held at Presuming Ed’s on London Rd.
How to find us:
The Amnesty Bookshop
15 Sydney Street
Brighton
BN1 4EN
We’re in North Laine, just a short walk from Brighton train station. There are two car parks within a couple of minutes from the shop.
Accessibility:
Our main shop floor is without steps and is fully wheelchair accessible.
There is a loading bay outside the shop which can be used, but it should be noted that Sydney Street is pedestrianised daily, from 10am onwards.
Trafalgar Street Car Park, and RCP Parking are both within a short, two-minute walk from the shop.
Donations & Collections:
We are always happy to receive walk-in donations, but we should flag that the street is pedestrianised daily from 10am onwards, so after this time you won’t be able to park very close to the shop. For larger donations, especially those which need to be dropped off by car, please contact the shop manager via brightonbookshop@amnesty.org.uk ahead of your visit and we can make arrangements.
Plus, if you are a UK taxpayer, we can sign you up for retail gift aid and help your donation to raise even more.
We also offer a collection service for donations and can accommodate most requests within a few weeks. Please use the email address above to check availability and make arrangements.
