Israeli authorities have their final chance to take forward the prosecution of Palestinian human rights defender Anas Barghouti at a hearing on 6 December.

Urgent Action good news: Charge dropped, Ebrahim Sharif remains free in Bahrain

Bahraini political activist Ebrahim Sharif’s one year prison sentence was upheld on 7 November by the Appeal Court. He remains free having already completed one year in prison on 11 July.

Urgent Action good news: Angolan activist released a week early

Francisco Mapanda (also known as Dago Nível Intelecto) was released from Comarca de Caquila prison on 21 November, seven days earlier than when he was due to be released. The reason for his early release is unknown.

Peaceful Papuan political activist, Steven Itlay, has been convicted of ‘incitement’ and sentenced to one year imprisonment in Timika, Papua province.

Urgent Action: Youth in Iran arrested in his teens at risk of execution

Himan Uraminejad has been warned by prison officials that he is at risk of execution as
Iran’s Head of Judiciary has approved the implementation of his death sentence. He has
been on death row since 2012 for a crime committed when he was 17 years old.
