Wales: Ieuan Wyn Jones AC/AM Supports SVAW

On Friday 2nd December 2005, Ieuan Wyn Jones AM held a coffee morning in support of Amnesty International’s campaign to Women's rights's rights's rightss rights's rights's rights's rights.

The event, part of a number taking place across Wales during Amnesty International Wales’ 16 Days of Activism, was held in the Assembly Member’s constituency office in Llangefni.

Speaking from the event, Ieuan Wyn Jones said "I was extremely glad to be able to raise awareness of this very important campaign, especially after hearing the shocking results of a recent Amnesty opinion poll on sexual assault awareness. The poll showed that a disturbingly large proportion of the public blame Women's rights's rightss rights's rights's rights's rights themselves for being raped.”

He added “Women's rights's rightss rights's rights's rights's rights often discuss their problems over a cup of tea or coffee, so we decided that this would be a good way to discuss the problem of violence against Women's rights's rightss rights's rights's rights's rights."

“It is very important that we try to prevent violence against Women's rights's rightss rights's rights's rights's rights by challenging the attitudes that tolerate and therefore contribute to it.”
