UK: Reaction to release of 'C' from Woodhill Prison

"This man’s release only underscores the arbitrariness and secretive nature of the draconian measures currently being used to detain people without charge in this country.

"What we need to see now is a scrapping of the Belmarsh system of detention as well as the envisaged control orders.

"We’ve been saying that the Home Secretary should show some faith in the justice system. He should listen to his critics and return to a system where suspected wrongdoers are charged, fairly tried and if found guilty imprisoned."
