Amnesty International today announced the appointment of Thomas Schultz-Jagow to the newly-created post of Senior Director of Campaigns and Communications, based at the organisation’s International Secretariat in London.

Thomas Schultz-Jagow, a German national, joins Amnesty from Oxfam GB where he is currently Director of Communications, having previously held the role of Director of Campaigns at the same organisation.

Prior to working for Oxfam GB, Thomas Schultz-Jagow was Director of Communications at the International Secretariat of WWF, and has held senior campaigns and communications roles at WWF and Greenpeace in Germany. He joins Amnesty in March 2012.

Amnesty International Secretary General Salil Shetty said:

“We are delighted that Thomas Schultz-Jagow will be joining the Amnesty International Senior Leadership Team.

“We look forward to working with him to drive forward high-impact campaigns and communications at a time when the fight for human rights around the world is so important to millions of people as they stand up against repression and in justice.”

Thomas Schultz-Jagow said:

“I am very excited to be joining Amnesty International, an organisation I have admired for many years.

“It will be a privilege to lead the merger of Amnesty International’s campaigns and communications work at a time when the organisation is focusing on growth in the global south.”
