This resource supports Amnesty Speakers to introduce students, aged 11-19, to the Human Rights Act.

The session plan and activity ideas for 11-14 year olds supports students to explore the importance of different human rights, consider who should protect our human rights and think about how human rights law impacts on our lives in the UK.

The session plan and activity ideas for 14-19 year olds uses real Supreme Court Judgement cases studies to examine the geographical extent of the Human Rights Act, to understand who is responsible for ensuring our protection under the Human Rights Act and to explore what happens when human rights protected within the Act conflict with one another.

You will also find supporting background notes, fact sheets and Q&As to support your understanding of the Human Rights Act.

Many thanks to DLA Piper Global Law Firm for writing this toolkit.
