Amnesty International and other civil society organisations in Northern Ireland have criticised a decision by the Chief Constable of the Police Service Northern Ireland (PSNI) to give spit hoods to 4,000 more officers in defiance of the Policing Board. In 81% of cases, PSNI used spit hoods on people with disabilities. Spit hoods used by PSNI 8 times on children, aged 10-17.
