About Us:
Amnesty Feminists is a volunteer-led network within Amnesty International UK dedicated to defending the human rights of women and girls through activism, advocacy, and awareness. We are explicitly intersectional, trans-inclusive, and sex-worker inclusive, challenging systems of patriarchy, racism, colonialism, capitalism, and ableism.
Join our volunteer activist community and help drive meaningful change. As a committee member, you'll work alongside passionate activists in a collaborative, non-hierarchical movement where your contributions and ideas directly impact our campaigns and collective action.
This Opportunity
Our My Body My Rights campaign is fighting for reproductive rights for all people in the face of growing attacks on bodily autonomy. You'll research the evolving situation, help identify our campaign priorities, and translate evidence into powerful advocacy that builds solidarity across borders.
Your Responsibilities
- Research reproductive rights and bodily autonomy issues to strengthen our My Body My Rights campaign strategy and direct action
- Track legislative attacks on reproductive rights, policy changes, and organizing opportunities in the UK and globally to inform our activism
- Identify policy gaps and pressure points where our campaign can have real impact and push for change
- Translate complex information from policy documents, grassroots reports, and news sources into accessible resources that empower activists to take action
- Work collaboratively with campaign team members to create evidence-based toolkits, fact sheets, and organizing resources
- Center marginalised voices in your research, particularly those most impacted by restrictions on bodily autonomy
- Commit to bi-weekly online meetings and in-person gatherings approximately every 2 months in London (travel costs reimbursed)
- You must be based in the UK to become an Amnesty Feminist Network committee member
What We Offer You
- A supportive group of peers who are passionate about feminist activism and committed to working collaboratively.
- Comprehensive onboarding and training from Amnesty International UK.
- Opportunity to input into the focus and objectives of the Amnesty Feminist Network.
- Tailored training, mentoring and networking opportunities based on your needs and interests.
- Reimbursement of travel costs for in-person meetings and events.
Commitment
This is a volunteer role requiring approximately 3-5 hours per week, with additional time around major events. All Amnesty Feminist Network Committee members sign up to our shared commitments and values when joining the team.
