JOIN OUR FIGHT FOR RACIAL JUSTICE

In the UK, Black people are over six times more likely to be stopped and searched by police.

Over 85% of Black people are not confident that they would be treated the same as white people by the police.

It is everyone’s responsibility to challenge and take action against systemic racism. Amnesty International UK fights to end racist laws, policies and practices.

Donate today to help us continue to this fight, and guarantee equal access to economic and social rights for all.

All donations go to support Amnesty International UK Section Charitable Trust.

The Black Lives Matter protests over the last few years have sought to challenge police racism. Yet many were met with violent suppression. In the UK, unjust fines were used to try and prevent them from going ahead at all. Dangerous police tactics, such as using police horses to charge against protesters, were employed during some protests.

Anti-racist protests should be celebrated, not used as an opportunity to extend police powers and deepen institutional racism.

Amnesty International works with Black communities and activists to amplify voices calling for people being discriminated against to have their rights protected.

Donate today to support our fight to remove these racist laws, policies and practices.

£5 a month could help Amnesty International work to challenge the Government’s Prevent Duty which discriminates against Muslims, children, & disabled people. Prevent's chilling effect on political expression discourages people from joining campaign groups.

£8 a month could help Amnesty International work to repeal anti-protest legislation that is likely to increase stop & search powers and discourage people from overpoliced communities from exercising their fundamental rights to peaceful protest.

£10 a month could help Amnesty International challenge the use of strip searches on children. Black children are six times more likely to be strip-searched & over half of strip-searches took place without an appropriate adult present. This practice must end.
