HELP FREE DORGELESSE NGUESSAN
YOUR GIFT TODAY COULD HELP THE CAMPAIGN TO DEMAND THAT THE CAMEROON AUTHORITIES RELEASE DORGELESSE NGUESSAN.
In September 2020, hairdresser Dorgelesse was struggling to earn enough to care for her son and her mum, who both live with serious health problems. Many others around her in Cameroon were struggling too. “Everything was falling apart.”, she said.
Dorgelesse decided to join a peaceful protest. She’d never done that before. But she felt the time had come to voice her unhappiness publicly and fight for those around her. The day of the protest turned into a nightmare. It was Dorgelesse’s last day of freedom.
Dorgelesse was arrested, imprisoned and given a five-year sentence. She has spent every day since trapped in a cell, far from the family she has always been there to care for.
Dorgelesse has committed no crime, she was simply exercising her right to have her voice heard. Will you help us lobby the Cameroon government to urgently free Dorgelesse and others who are imprisoned for simply trying to build a better tomorrow? Together, we can help make sure humanity wins.
