As winners of the Nobel Peace Prize, Amnesty has been fighting to protect human rights for over 60 years; mobilising international pressure against oppressive regimes and systemic abuses, providing critical evidence to institutions like the International Criminal Court and the United Nations and driving change through public campaigns, legal interventions, and policy advocacy at the highest levels. Over our history we have been no strangers to the crackdown on human rights from authoritarian governments, and even threats to Amnesty’s own existence. We will always continue to defend those most vulnerable, speaking up for people whose voices have been silenced. Major gifts make a significant contribution to tackling these problems and donors are very much partners in our work.
By giving a major gift to Amnesty International UK of £1,000 or more you will be directly supporting our vision of a just world where everyone can live with freedom and dignity because human rights are valued and upheld. We work with philanthropic individuals, companies and Trusts and Foundations who want to make an impact for good, and who can enable us to carry out work that might not otherwise be possible through their financial support.
A philanthropic gift allows us to increase our impact as we witness an unprecedented, and global acceleration of authoritarian practices and attacks on human rights.
If you have a specific area of our work, you are passionate about you can choose to donate towards a particular programme such as Human Rights Education, Individuals at Risk, Crisis Response, Racial Justice or LGBTQ+ Rights. You can also focus your support on promoting and protecting human rights in a certain part of the world or to help fund a global campaign. We are a movement only through supporters like yourself. We want to have you with us every step of the way and a member of our team would advise and give you access to:
