By making a major gift you will enable us to increase our impact and make a real difference to people facing grave human rights violations around the world.

Our plans for growth across the global south depend on philanthropic support and we hope you will be able to help us build a better future for human rights.

Supporting human rights defenders

The generosity of our key supporters enables us to stand in solidarity and defiance with human rights defenders working under serious threat.

People like Nolwandle, a member of our partner organisation, Women of Zimbabwe Arise, who bravely continues her vital human rights work in the face of intimidation and violence

Tax-effective giving

UK taxpayers can Gift Aid their donation to Amnesty International UK Section Charitable Trust. In addition, we welcome tax-effective gifts in wills and donations of bonds, stocks or assets.

What we do with your money

We work in 150 countries and territories on a wide range of human rights issues and will direct your donation to where it is most needed.

We welcome support for our crucial core costs which fund growth and development across the whole Amnesty movement, with particular focus on the Global South.

We are also able to offer the opportunity to direct your donation towards a campaign or region that reflects your own interest and will work closely with you to keep you informed of project progress.

Why we need your support

Our vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other instruments.

With your support we work on cases of serious human rights abuse all over the world representing individuals, families  and communities in need.  We investigate and document human rights abuses, generate public pressure through authoritative reports, media exposure, lobbying, and by mobilising our Urgent Action Network, whose members appeal to people in power on behalf of people at risk.

In emergency situations such as the crises in Syria and Egypt, we urgently need funds to be able to keep our research teams on the ground, gathering evidence, exposing violations and supporting local human rights defenders.
