Championing Change: Human Rights and the Climate Crisis
Looking to dive deeper into the link between climate change and human rights?
Developed by Amnesty, and delivered through FutureLearn, discover why climate change is one of the biggest human rights challenges of our time, and how human rights can be a powerful tool to fight it. In this 3-week course, you’ll explore the deep connections between global warming and human rights violations, uncover inequalities across regions and demographics, and learn practical ways to take action. Through interactive learning and real-world examples, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to advocate for climate justice, support environmental defenders, and join a global movement tackling these urgent issues.

This 45-minute course delves into the critical human rights issues surrounding the energy transition and will equip you with the knowledge and tools to ensure a transition away from fossil fuels that respects human rights. Take this transformative journey to understand the impact of mining raw minerals in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and take action to promote a sustainable and rights-respecting energy transition.
