Chris Riddell, the 2015-2017 UK Waterstone's Children's Laureate, is an award-winning children’s illustrator and author as well as long-term political cartoonist for the Observer.

His children’s books have won many major prizes, including three CILIP Kate Greenaway Medals and the Costa Children's Book Award. 

He has supported Amnesty for many years, creating My Little Book of Big Freedoms, illustrations in We Are All Born Free, Dreams of Freedom and a graphic story in Here I Stand.
