Books for Amnesty Edinburgh

We are so pleased to be open again following the recent lockdown. It’s been wonderful to see our customers stopping by to top up their bookshelves. If you are planning a visit, our opening hours for next week will be:

Monday         12 - 6pm

Tuesday        12 - 6pm

Wednesday   12 - 6pm

Thursday       12 - 6pm

Friday            12 - 6pm

Saturday        12 - 6pm

Sunday           12 - 6pm

We are happy to accept smaller donations of books at any time during opening hours. However, please note: if you wish to donate more books than one person can carry in a single trip (i.e. more than one box or two bags), we accept donations of this size by appointment only. Please give us a call on 0131 221 1596 to book a time. If you turn up hoping to donate books and find the shop is closed, please don’t leave the books outside.

Our Edinburgh shop opened its doors in October 2016, offering Marchmont residents such as Inspector Rebus and Miss Jean Brodie a much-needed local bookshop.

If you are bringing donations please call ahead to check that we are open.

  • The shop is on one level with a small step at the entrance

Get involved

Volunteer: Our shops are run mainly by volunteers so we’re always looking for more! If you’re interested in helping out and can spare four hours a week, please pop in for a chat and an application form. You can also download the role outline and application form below.
