Lindsey-Hilsum Reports on Sexual Harrasment of Women in Egypt

The link below directs you to her report from Cairo's Tahrir Square, where millions of men and women gathered to oust president Morsi from power as he was taking the country towards Islamisation. Apart from the political message of millions of men and women, sadly,  what caught the attention of people outside the country was the continued brutal assault and rape of hundreds of women and girls who gathered in the streets to accompany men and set their demands. The report speaks of harrowing experiences of women and girls. Some have been brfave enough to appear before the camera and let the world know of their ordeal.

It is a shame that Egypt, where women had campaigned for their rights for over 100 years should still be a misogynist society that women lack minum protection by law.
