Amnesty weekender at the Big Chill!

If you’re heading to the Big Chill this weekend you may want to pack a pair of flip flops along with your wellies!  Not only is the weather forecast looking much more favourable for festival-goers, Amnesty will be at the Big Chill for the fourth year running and this year we’re also teaming up with Havaianas to offer 600 pairs of limited edition flips flops. For a small donation all old pairs will be recycled with proceeds to Amnesty, so why not come on down and trade in your oldies! There’s a great line up this year with headline acts including Orbital, Basement Jaxx, David Byrne and Chris Cunningham as well as performances from Noel Fielding, Dylan Moran and Tim Minchin. Amnesty will also be on site to give festival goers the opportunity to stand up for human rights alongside the likes of Massive Attack, Eddie Izzard, Annie Lennox and Benjamin Zephaniah by having their photo taken with an Amnesty placard as part of the ‘I protect the human’ initiative. A selection of the photographs will be featured on our online gallery. We’ll also be asking amnesty supporters to take action this weekend to support the Iranian women’s Campaign for Equality. If you can’t make it to the Big Chill and would like to find out more and support these campaigners just click here.
