Selling arms to countries that do not respect rights

"Both the present Government and its predecessor misjudged the risk that arms approved for export to certain authoritarian countries in North Africa and the Middle East might be used for internal repression."

Just what you might expect to read from Amnesty or another campaigning group such as CAAT but that is not where it is from.  The source of this quote is an influential cross-party group of MPs called the Committees on Arms Export Controls.  Here is their report and you can also read about it on BBC website
