East Belfast Speaks Out

This event has already been picked up on the Northern Ireland blogosphere over on Slugger and on Alan in Belfast but, seeing as I'm one of the panellists, I'll give it a plug here too!

East Belfast Speaks Out is basically (the hugely successful) West Belfast Talks Back moved to the Holywood Road.

Following the classic Question Time format, (as the token non-politico) I'll be joining a panel of MPs and MLAs from Northern Ireland and Westminster to debate whatever the citizens of east Belfast throw at us.

Jailed human rights defenders in Burma, Shell's exploitation in Ogoniland, the plight of trade unionists in Colombia… or the 11+ debacle, budget cuts and the devolution of justice and policing. We'll not know 'til Conor Bradford starts taking the questions.

Why not try to get along and make sure that there's some human rights mixed among the party politics. Kicks off at 7:30pm, Ashfield Boys' School. Directions here.
