Letter to Minister for Migration and Citizenship concerning simplification and safe routes, May 2025

Following a meeting in April 2025, Amnesty UK wrote to the Minister for Migration and Citizenship.

The letter (provided here) sets out our views concerning the need for simplification of the immigration rules and how this links to matters of policy, not mere drafting.

It also sets out our general thoughts on safe routes and considerations that need to be borne in mind in relation to these, including the need to address all asylum claims however received fairly and efficiently.
