Joint Amnesty UK and Migrant Vice submission to the Public Accounts Committee on Government services: identifying costs and generating income

In this joint submission, Amnesty UK and Migrant Voice address above-cost charging for immigration visas and related services.

The submission identifies the inefficiency and injustice of the present system, including the overarching ambition of delivering an immigration system that is paid for from these charges. It sets out seven distinct errors of principle that underpin this system and that ambition; and makes nine recommendations for reform.

The Committee's inquiry was originally entitled 'Government fees, charges and levies'.
