Amnesty UK & PRCBC joint submission to Joint Committee on Human Rights: Legislative Scrutiny of Government's Immigration Bill 2022-23 (citizenship)

The Joint Committee on Human Rights considers Government legislation that raises significant human rights concerns. It, therefore, opened an inquiry into the immigration bill introduced by the Government in the 2022-23 parliamentary session.

In this joint submission, Amnesty International UK and the Project for the Registration of Children as British Citizens (PRCBC) set out our concerns regarding the bill's interference with rights to British citizenship, and the human rights implications of this, as the bill stood on 6 April 2023 (when the Committee closed its inquiry to receiving written evidence).
