Amnesty International UK & PRCBC "Citizenship" briefing for House of Lords on Government HL Bill 133

Amnesty International UK and the Project for the Registration of Children as British Citizens (PRCBC) have jointly produced this briefing for House of Lords' consideration of Government HL Bill 133. The briefing addresses the impact of this Bill upon British children; upon their rights to British citizenship; and upon the citizenship of the United Kingdom more generally. It is revised to take into account Government amendments made to the Bill before it was passed from the House of Commons.

The briefing sets out the profound harm this bill will do to British children by arbitrarily depriving them of their rights to British citizenship - because of what someone else has done in sending or bringing these children to the UK, including where that was done to exploit them.
