Amnesty International UK briefing on Government Amendments for House of Commons Report on Government Bill 284
The Government has at the last minute tabled 136 amendments, 9 new clauses and one new Schedule to the Bill.
This briefing sets out Amnesty International's initial assessment of these amendments, some of which make radical changes to the scope and content of the Bill though without altering its fundamental offensiveness to any real notion of human rights respect or respect for UK law and constitutionality.
