- Over 100 medical workers and Amnesty supporters gathered on Brighton beach on Friday 26th June to demand that the NHS cut ties with Palantir
- ‘Health workers and human rights activists are united: pull the plug on this £330 million contract’ – Amika George, Amnesty International UK
Palantir is a US software company whose tools are currently used by the Israeli military as they commit genocide against Palestinians in occupied Gaza. In this action, over 100 medical workers and Amnesty International supporters joined together on Brighton promenade in a striking act of protest against Palantir’s presence in the NHS. Together they pressed red paint covered hands on a giant Palantir logo to symbolise Amnesty’s view that Palantir has blood on its hands due to the use of its software by Israel’s military throughout an ongoing genocide. The activists and healthcare workers argued that the company therefore has no place in our NHS.
Amika George, a Community Organiser at Amnesty International UK, who spoke at the demonstration said:
“Palantir signed a contract with Israel’s military in January 2024, when there was already clear evidence that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza. A company that profits off genocide has no place in our NHS – and today, health workers and human rights activists have come to Brighton to make that case loud and clear.
“Compassionate care, humanity and dignity are the lifeblood of our health service. We will not sacrifice these principles for a company that puts profits before people.
“The presence of Palantir in our NHS is a mark of national shame. Health workers and human rights activists are united: pull the plug on this £330 million contract. The prescription is simple – terminate it today.”
No Palantir in our NHS campaign
In 2023, NHS England awarded a £330 million contract to Palantir to provide a new data platform. On 3 June 2026, the cross-party House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Committee called for the government to terminate NHS England's contract with Palantir, in part due to the company’s support for "highly controversial policies and activities."
A company profiting from such grave human rights abuses should have no role in our health system or wider public sector. Amnesty’s message is clear: No Palantir in our NHS.
Palantir’s contract with NHS England is up for renewal in February 2027. In the lead-up to this date, Amnesty is campaigning for all NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Boards (ICB) to refuse to use Palantir’s technology, due to Palantir’s links to global human rights violations.
