Impunity for torture in Egypt

Human Rights Watch has recently issued a report, Work on Him Until He Confesses, about impunity for torture in Egypt.

Human Rights Watch also reports on a violent response to protests in Sudan. 

Avaaz has a petition inviting you to stand with the people of Egypt in trying to end 30 years of repressive government.

Update, 8 Feb. 2011:  I notice that names are being added to the Avaaz petition from Egypt as well as from many other countries.  (The Avaaz website can be read in various languages including Arabic.)  The total number is now nearing 650 thousand.
